With a wealth of clinical experience in Australia and overseas including in Egypt and the Maldives, Dr Rasheed provides quality medical service to all his patients. He holds the doctor-patient relationship in high esteem and aims to honour this by building a strong rapport with all his patients, in which honesty and trust is his utmost priority.
Born in the Maldives, Dr Rasheed did his medical degree in Egypt. He arrived in Australia in 2003 and, since then, continued his clinical practice in Australia uninterruptedly. Initially, he enrolled at the University of Melbourne and joined The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) to complete a Masters of Medicine (MMed – Internal Medicine). He worked at the RMH from 2003 until 2008, and then moved to the Western Health and remained there until the end of 2011.
Dr Rasheed has worked a number of years in Internal Medicine and its various subspecialties at the RMH as well as Western Health. He held registrar’s jobs at Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Emergency Medicine for a long time. He also worked in Cardiology, Nephrology and Intensive Care departments at the RMH and Western hospitals.
He moved out into the community in 2011 and joined The National Home Doctor Service (NHDS). There he gained insight and knowledge on the family dynamics and community related health issues. He still continues with the NHDS and currently serves there as a senior doctor and a mentor.
As a general practitioner, he also worked at Valley Primary Health Centre in Yarra Glen from 2015 to 2017. He thoroughly enjoyed his work there and gained much popularity among his patients. He remained at Yarra Glen until November 2017 when he opened his own practice, Polaris Medical Centre in Bundoora.
Dr Rasheed holds a Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in addition to a Masters of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Melbourne. He speaks English, Arabic and Dhivehi fluently.

Dr Katrina Philip’s dedication to providing holistic, sincere care for her patients is demonstrated in her thirty years of medical service within the local community. She has cherished her opportunity to develop lasting relationships with her patients and assist them throughout their medical journey.
After completing her medical training at Monash University, Katrina has worked locally and overseas. She values being able to provide patients with thorough and thoughtful clinical assessments, a skill she has refined in the nine years spent working in India. A true generalist, Katrina has experience in a range of fields, including paediatrics, obstetrics, aged care, tropical medicine and palliative care. She is also a member of the Austin Hospital Breast Clinic team.
Katrina’s commitment to community and general health continues into her outside interests where she enjoys athletics, coordinates a local community garden and loves to share in music through piano.

Dr. Ghazala Javed has over 25 years of experience as a general practitioner (GP). Her extensive work experience in family and general medicine spans four countries: Pakistan, Malaysia, Brunei, and Australia. She considers diligence, honesty, compassion, and a strong commitment to her profession as her strengths.
